This month a different group of trainees are getting to participate in some sessions at Goldenstones. Tina had us mixing dance and movement with weights, we cant wait for next week
Prodigal Bikes.
Yesterday was our last session with Prodigal Bikes for this year. We have had a wonderful time learning to refurbish bikes for this fantastic charity.
One of our favourite places
Our trainees love going out and trying different things. It is also great when we can work with other community organisations.
On our list of favourite places to go is Carymoor Environmental Trust .
Pilates anyone?
Huge thanks to Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership - SASP and Sport England who through their Together Fund grant have enabled the Hub to purchase lots of new sports equipment as well as experience 8 weeks of activities at Goldenstones.
Featured Trainee Art of the Month
We thought we would introduce something new in the café as we love showing off what our trainees get up to. Here is our first Featured Trainee Art of the month, isn’t it fantastic!
Keeeeeep Dancing! Inclusive Dance is back!
Over the forthcoming weeks up to 12th December Hub trainees will again get the chance to enjoy Inclusive Dance Classes at Westlands Leisure Centre. The sessions are fully inclusive and accessible with the emphasis on self expression, fun and building friendships and are delivered by professional dancers. Check out our trainees' dance moves!
Eyes down.
Another Full House as our trainees and their families and friends enjoyed Friday's bingo night at the Hub. Lots of Quack Quacks, fun and laughter.
Trying something new
We do love trying different things at the Hub! A group visited Cary Alpacas just outside Yeovil.
Budding artists.
Next time you visit our Cafe or Scrapstore you will be greeted by some amazing work from our Trainees.
Guess who’s back in town
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit this morning from the Drum Bus, what a great way to start the week.
New month, new group…
…some who have been before, some first timers got to visit Eastfields Of Bowers Hill today
Something different for a Friday!
Friend of the Hub, Terry Bennett kindly brought his vintage 1961 Leyland Atlantean open-top bus to the Hub today and two groups of trainees and staff had a fabulous time having a tour around Yeovil.
Our supporters are the best!
We just wanted to say a massive 👏THANK YOU 👏 to all our supporters that voted for us in the Tesco Community Grant. The prizes have been announced and we were second and received a fantastic £1,000 to go towards IT equipment to use in our Digital Suite.
We love working as a team.
A few months ago our trainees in all sessions were tasked with painting sheets of A4 using the ombré technique.
Creative with clay.
Last month a small group of our trainees got to join in an inclusive pottery workshop at Westlands Yeovil being run by Creative Clay For All .
Great News…
We are delighted to share that we have received #NationalLottery funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for our project! Thank you to National Lottery players for helping #MakeAmazingHappen.
Visit from Jade
This morning we welcomed Jade from the Fibreshed The Handloom Room who ran a workshop on understanding natural fibres and what can be achieved with them, from cotton to wool to nettles! The group also then used natural dyes from plants such as chamomile to decorate gift tags.
Must be a Thursday!
hanks to Eastfields Of Bowers Hill 😍 who make team work and hard work fun and who never fail to persuade all our trainees to try something new.
A few options on a Wednesday morning
This morning some of our trainees were out and about….
