Hearing those hidden voices…

We are now half way through our Word Play sessions with Liv, Rozi, Chris and Johnny from Take Art.

For those new to Word/Play, it aims to use performance poetry to empower individuals, giving them the freedom and encouragement to tell their stories by

• · developing skills: literacy, communication and performance

• · improving well-being: confidence, self-esteem and social interaction

• · inspiring creativity: voice and self-expression

The chance to hear voices that are often hidden.

Trainees have been writing poetry using acrostic, alliteration and rhyming about their feelings and thoughts as well as underpants and aliens. We are hoping to finish the run of sessions with a small performance in the café.
