How can we help you?
Whether you are enquiring for yourself, a child or perhaps you are a social worker, we have a number of ways we can help you. We have a few questions below that may lead you to the answers you need.
How old do I need to be to join the Hub?
The Hub generally works with people after education, aged from 18+. However, we can work with school aged pupils in groups from the age of 14+ and we also have trainees who attend the Hub who are over 35. So for us, age is but a number…
What funding will I need?
Most trainees receive direct payments from local authority. You will need to contact your local authority, request an assessment and we can help with advice and guidance on doing this and on any other potential forms of income/funding.
What days can I attend?
Whether it’s five days, one day or half a day, we think you will enjoy your time at the Hub . Whether you stay for a day or stay on for our social groups, it’s up to you. We are here to welcome and support you however long you choose to spend with us. Our day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 3.30pm from Monday to Friday, and our social groups start from 4.00pm on a Wednesday.
Will I be able to work?
Yes, you are able to work, both as a volunteer on our work placements or as a paid employee either in the Hub or externally through our network of partners and business contacts. It is not always the case that working will mean you losing your benefits.
What facilities are at the Hub?
We try to make our spaces as inclusive and accessible as possible but are working towards a fully inclusive environment, that’s our dream. All our trainee facilities are located on the ground floor, wheelchair accessible rooms and 2 additional accessible toilets. We have off-street parking, hearing loops and we have our own transition routes that allow for trainees to move freely.
What do I have for lunch?
You are welcome to bring your own lunch or we can offer you lunch from our café menu for a modest charge. Please notify us of any dietary requirements that you may have and we will do our best to accommodate them.
